These are sources for products, some of which both myself, my husband Barry and friends, have used. I have focussed mainly on U.K. distributors as I live in Scotland. Some of these products may also be available at your local health food store. I realise that this subject can be confusing as there is such a variety available today. This information is presented in the spirit of sharing material about products which have helped us, and those suppliers that we have found efficient and of good quality. It is not suggested that they are in any way a cure as the body ultimately heals itself, given the correct fuel (nutrition) plus a healthy lifestyle.

An excellent and wide ranging source of nutritional products. Mail order
only (catalogue available). The products I have used are: True Food Supernutrition
Plus, high absorption A-Z multivitamin & mineral complex. Quoting their

Liver/Gall Bladder drops or capsules: Ingredients: Fringe Tree Bark, Dandelion root, Vervain, 10% each Rhubarb root, Yarrow, Black cohosh, Milk thistle, Barberry, 5% Boldo (alcohol 32% vol.)
Femarone 40+. A "herbal alternative" taken by menopausal women. Usage: 2 capsules, or 20-30 drops, 3 times a day. (I actually find just 20-30 drops once in the morning is very helpful). The suppliers recommend taking it for 4-6 months and then stop completely. They also recommend taking it with the above support for the liver. Ingredients: 20% each Dong Quai, Agnus Castus, 12% Blessed Thistle, 10% Squaw Vine, 4% each Black Cohosh, Cramp Bark, Siberian Ginseng, Barberry, Raspberry Leaf, Uva Ursi, Sarsaparilla, False Unicorn Root, Licorice, 1% Ginger, Cayenne (tinctures).
Psyllium husks: Provide bulk and is excellent for the "lazy" colon without the possible "scratchiness" of bran.
Anti-Spas Capsules and Dig. Tea:: These are made up of dried herbs which are infused in a cup of hot water and left to stand for about 10 minutes. Excellent for the digestive system. Ingredients: Anti-Spas capsules: Caraway, aniseed, skullcap, ginger, chamomile. Dig. Tea: Meadowsweet, wood betony, fennel, comfrey leaf, peppermint, chamomile.

Clay for bowel cleansing and detox:

They recommend taking Calcium Montmollonite Clay for up to six months only as a cleanse, but the TERRAMIN can be taken daily if required.The only potential problem I have found with these clays is that for people who have a weak digestion and/or weak spleen energy, they can have a 'dampening' effect on the body. Dampness, in oriental medicine, can manifest as discomfort after eating, oedema, skin problems, etc., depending on which organ or organs are affected by the dampness. However, those people can find the baths helpful.
